Citrus Australia welcomes the Coalition Government’s decision to set a backpacker tax rate of 15%.
The citrus industry has been strongly opposed to the 32.5% rate which would have had a negative impact on the availability of backpackers to pick fruit.

Grower workshops on national levy investment priorities

Workshops will be held in Mildura, Renmark and Gayndah in December to identify growers’ views on goals and key challenges for citrus over the next five years.
These will then be used to help develop a plan that guides the Strategic Investment Advisory Panel (SIAP) to invest the national citrus levy via the Strategic Investment Plan.
