Citrus Australia welcomes change to backpacker tax

Citrus Australia welcomes the Coalition Government’s decision to set a backpacker tax rate of 15%.
The citrus industry has been strongly opposed to the 32.5% rate which would have had a negative impact on the availability of backpackers to pick fruit.
Citrus tree census and KCT export applications open now

Grower workshops on national levy investment priorities

Workshops will be held in Mildura, Renmark and Gayndah in December to identify growers’ views on goals and key challenges for citrus over the next five years.
These will then be used to help develop a plan that guides the Strategic Investment Advisory Panel (SIAP) to invest the national citrus levy via the Strategic Investment Plan.

Citrus tree census now open

The annual Citrus Tree Census (CTC) opens on November 1, giving growers the opportunity to record new plantings, top working or removal of trees completed since November last year.
