Citrus Australia, the peak industry body for Australia’s 1500 citrus growers, welcomes shipping and logistics specialist, ANL, as a corporate partner.

Headquartered in Melbourne, ANL was originally established by the Australian government and later became part of the CMA CGM Group, the fourth largest containerised shipping and logistics group worldwide. The Group has been a major shipping carrier of Australia’s citrus exports for many years.

Citrus Australia CEO Nathan Hancock said Citrus Australia members would benefit greatly from the relationship.

“We look forward to working together and sharing ANL & CMA CGM’s expertise and information on the latest in global shipping with our members,” Mr Hancock said.

“Exports underpin our industry and reefer containers play a vital role in moving our world class citrus around the globe.

“Learning about advances in reefer and digital technology and how that leads to improvements in fruit quality are sure to be of great interest to our members.”

Chief Executive Officer of ANL, Shane Walden said ANL is more than just a shipping business.

“It’s a business that embodies its tagline ‘the spirit of endeavour’ with new innovations and shipping products to suit our Australian clients,” he said.

“By choosing ANL, citrus growers and exporters have access to more than 20 services within Oceania and these shipping services connect their product to the rest of the world.

“Furthermore, we have been able to develop products giving these environmentally-minded clients access to more sustainable shipping solutions that help them reduce or offset their scope 3 GHG emissions, no matter where they’re shipping from or to.”

CMA CGM Group Agencies (Australia) National Reefer Manager Glenn Harvey said ANL and CMA CGM ensure delivery of product into the international export markets in the best possible condition by providing effective sea freight solutions, such as both CSIT and non- CSIT options.

“This is the benefit of our partnership, providing shipping and ancillary products in order to support our clients in gaining the best possible export returns.”
