Citrus fuels charity swim
Citrus fuels charity swim

Aussie citrus growers helped fuel young swimmers through the recent MS Mega Swim, a 24-hour swimming marathon to help raise funds for those living with multiple sclerosis (MS).
MS affects more than 25,600 people in Australia and more than 2 million people worldwide.
Teams or individuals who enter the MS Mega Swim must have a swimmer in the water at all times. The daughter of Gerry Papasidero, Marketing Manager at Pacific Fresh in Leeton, NSW, and her friends competed in the Sydney Mega Swim in May, sleeping on concrete and eating oranges at 2am in the morning.
Citrus Australia provided competitor bags and Pacific Fresh helped supply the competitors with fresh citrus.
Their team, Swimnado, raised $20,319 from their goal of $15,000 in the 2021 Sydney MS Mega Swim, placing them third against 33 other participating teams.
