Citrus Australia has added a special Farm Tech Workshop to the 2019 Citrus Technical Forum program.
The practical workshop will cover latest technology in:
• Soil moisture monitoring
• GPS guidance systems
• Frost fans
• Pest and disease management
The focus of the 2019 Citrus Technical Forum, held in Adelaide on March 6-7, is how the latest research can be applied on farm for tangible results.
Citrus Australia CEO Nathan Hancock said the practical Farm Tech Workshop – to run on Thursday morning, March 7 – would showcase latest innovation on the market.
“Adoption of new technology and techniques presented at the Forum will lead to better quality fruit and greater profitability through more efficient use of resources and reduction of costs,” Mr Hancock said.
“It is important to Citrus Australia that growers can leave Adelaide with practical information that they can adopt on farm for immediate results.
“The Farm Tech Workshop will provide this information, but also act as a setting where growers can share their own techniques with each other.”
Mr Hancock said Australian citrus growers have proven themselves innovative members of the Australian agriculture industry and continue to thrive against larger nations through adoption of research.
“Our focus for the Forum, including this specialised workshop, has been to present the latest research and techniques to our growers, to enable them to maintain the country’s international reputation as a premier provider of citrus.”
