Agrichemical use in the spotlight

15-Feb-2017

Citrus Australia will host a meeting of the Agrichemical Reference Group in Melbourne on March 29.

The meeting is being held to o review current agrichemical use patterns, identify threats to agrichemical access, and to discuss alternatives where access is threatened.

Growers, IPM experts, government representatives, agrichemical re-sellers and product registrants will all be represented at the meeting.

Citrus Australia Market Access Manager, David Daniels, said critical items listed for discussion are control of citrus gall wasp, Fuller’s rose weevil, red scale disease control in Queensland, potential threats to the use of chlorpyriphos, as well as other emerging issues.

The group will also review the Strategic Agrichemical Review Process (SARP) draft report, recently developed by Hort Innovation. Hort Innovation is also seeking member input into the draft report.
