Welcome Ebony Faichney!

Ebony has joined the Citrus Australia team as Market Development Project Officer based in Mareeba, far north Queensland. Ebony will become a key point of contact for all QLD growers and will support existing staff in policy, membership, biosecurity, and market access projects. She has a range of knowledge on tropical horticulture systems with experience in extension, integrated pest & disease management, and supply chains. In addition, Ebony is a passionate young leader and advocate for agriculture and regional communities.

Ebony is well known amongst the FNQ citrus industry through her previous role with the QLD Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in Mareeba. Here she played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Far North Queensland Regional Advisory Committee in 2018 and has been an active member since.

Ebony is a born and bred north Queenslander with sugarcane, cattle, and tobacco farming in her family history. When she’s not working you’ll find her camping, fishing, cooking, or digging around in her veggie garden.
