Citrus Australia has made three new additions to the team this year, appointing Sue Rudd to the position of Market Development Project Officer, Gabby Torpey as the Media and Communications Officer, and Jess Carr as Executive Assistant to CEO, Nathan Hancock.

Sue Rudd

Sue coordinates the KCT Export program, which is run by Citrus Australia to assist growers to export to Korea, China and Thailand. The role was previously held by Nicole Zerveas who is well known to all growers.

Sue will also conduct Freshcare training and manage the tree census.

Before joining Citrus Australia, Sue had been working with small businesses for 20 years, and ran her own business for four years which helped engage small business with the online world. Sue currently also works as a small business mentor for the Victorian State Government.

Sue has also worked in the citrus industry as a quality manager in South Australia and a development officer in the Riverina. Most recently, she was part of a project to identify the shortage of accommodation for seasonal workers in our region. Sue was born in the Riverland but grew up in Adelaide, loves camping and the river, and her favourite citrus is a navel orange.

Jess Carr

Jess joined our team in March and you may have already met her as the face of the office or as the voice on the phone. Jess manages the front of house but plays a pivotal support role in areas of accounts, membership and assisting Nathan.

Jess is a Mildura local and before joining Citrus Australia worked as a legal secretary. She has a ‘very small background’ in the world of citrus, owning a 6-acre citrus farm for two seasons with her husband in Curlwaa. Jess loves mandarins and orange juice, and has four children that play football and netball for Irymple – ‘Go the Swallows’.
