Citrus Australia response to fruit fly outbreak in Loxton, SA

Citrus Australia response to fruit fly outbreak in Loxton, SA

7 December 2018

Citrus Australia takes the announcement of the fruit fly outbreak in Loxton seriously and is already working with Government and industry to provide timely advice and information.
Fortunately, the outbreak comes at the tail end of the season and won’t dramatically affect sales of export and domestic citrus this year.
We are confident area freedom can be restored in time for the 2019 harvest.
The outbreak is an isolated pocket of the Riverland which gives us confidence it can be cleared up in a timely manner.
We have full confidence in PIRSA to manage this outbreak and look forward to working with them to help citrus growers in the Loxton area eradicate fruit fly.
