There’s only 10 weeks until the 2019 Citrus Tech Forum will take place at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
The Tech Forum will be held in Adelaide on March 6-7, and is expected to attract more than 400 citrus industry representatives. We advise you to register now and also to book accommodation as soon as possible, as prices are rising.
The program will cover a broad range of topics covering technology improvements on farm and postharvest including the latest on R&D from Australia and around the world.
Keynote addresses will be given by:
• Beatriz Stein, a citrus specialist from Argentina: An overview of Argentina’s industry and discussion on the impact of HLB on the Argentinian industry.
• Nate Jameson, Brite Leaf Citrus Nursery, Florida: Lessons from battling HLB/ACP and citrus canker in the US, and retro fitting nurseries with exclusion technology.
• Lluis Palou, Valencian Institute for Agricultural Research, Postharvest Research Centre: Fungicide-free control of citrus postharvest diseases.
Session topics will include:
• international citrus research and development
• protecting agrichemical availability
• orchard best management practice
• biosecurity challenges
• advances in pest management
• post-harvest R&D and technology
There will also be field visits through Sunraysia and the Riverina on the two days before the conference. However, places for this are strictly limited.
Citrus Australia CEO, Nathan Hancock, said the event will provide growers and packers with a glimpse into future technologies with practical applications and provide a platform for researchers to showcase their work.
“The format of the event will encourage growers to participate in a setting they feel comfortable in.
“It will also include displays of new equipment, products and services by commercial companies and provide a great opportunity to network.”
