Citrus tree census and KCT export applications open now

Citrus tree census and KCT export applications open now

25-Nov-2016

The citrus tree census opened on October 31 and Citrus Australia encourages all growers to complete it.
Citrus Australia Market Information and Quality Manager, Nathan Hancock, says the tree census is a significant industry research tool.
“It provides the basis for crop forecasting and industry production modelling. It also serves as the platform for the KCT online system,” Nathan said.
Growers can contact Nathan on email (Nathan.hancock@citrusaustralia.com.au) or phone on 0429 772 181 to receive a tree census form. The form can be completed online or via mail or fax.
Growers that have sold or purchased orchards please should advise Nathan so he can update the system. Those with a new email address should also notify Nathan.
Citrus Australia has received 118 KCT applications from growers. KCT applications are due to close on December 31, 2016.
Nathan has been visiting growing regions to ensure packers are familiar with the changes to the system. Packers can then pass on this advice to their growers.
Nathan is currently in the Riverina and will be visiting sheds in the Riverland and Sunraysia with David Daniels in the next fortnight.
