Big Australian presence at Asia Fruit Logistica

More than 665 companies from 37 different countries exhibited their products and services at the 10th Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong last week. Visitor numbers grew by 22% compared to last year, with more than 11,000 industry professionals from 74 countries attending the show.
Organisers said Australia in particular had a much bigger presence than in previous years with a very impressive pavilion organised though Horticulture Innovation Australia.
They said Australia and New Zealand seems to be moving away from European markets and focussing more on Asian markets.
It was announced at the event that Chinese fruit importer and exporter Gold Anda will become the sole representative of Nippy’s Waikerie Producers’ fresh citrus and fruit juice exports to China.
Gold Anda is a Chinese grower, packer and trader from Shenzhen with a presence across China. Nippy’s will export Navels and Valencia’s to China, with all products to be exported under the Nippy’s brand name and packaging.
Gold Anda will be granted exclusive use of Nippy’s branded citrus regarding citrus sales to the Chinese Mainland. The program is expected to start next season.

The winners of the event’s 2016 Asia Fruit Awards were Fruitday, which won marketing campaign of the year; Jinwon Trading, which won importer of the year; and Sam’s Club China, which won produce retailer of the year. The three companies are all Australian customers and Citrus Australia extends its congratulations.
