The 2016 Citrus Market Outlook Forum will be held in Sydney over two days from Wednesday, March 16.
A full house of delegates will hear from keynote speakers from the Philippines and China who will provide insight into the latest export news.
The Forum will also include the very latest on the 2016 crop forecast, juice and retail trends, and give one packer the opportunity to win a study tour to Spain with MAF Oceania and Citrus Australia – simply by visiting the MAF stand.
Austrade’s Vanessa Perez, based in the South East Asian mega-city of Manila, will provide a snapshot on growth trajectory on the Philippine economy and how this translates to the increasing Filipino middle class.
She will also discuss emerging trends and opportunities in the Philippine fruit market (retail and wholesale), share Philippine importers and customers’ perceptions on Australian citrus, and discuss prospects and challenges in the Philippines fruit trade.
Key note speaker Kurt Huang will provide the latest insights into the China market, which last year became Australia’s largest valued export market for citrus.
International trade expert Laurie Smith will share his insights as opening speaker. He has over 30 years’ experience in international corporate, advisory and government roles.

Other highlights of the event include:
• Tree planting and production trends over the next 10 years
• The 2016 crop forecast
• Export market performance, challenges and opportunities
• Domestic market trends and new development
• Prospects for new juice products and juice export
