Citrus Australia’s inaugural Biosecurity Symposium will be held on Tuesday 5 March at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort.
The focus of the Symposium will be Huanglongbing disease, and the event will give industry members an opportunity to learn about impacts that this disease has had on overseas citrus industries.
This event will provide industry members with further knowledge and tools to assess the risk that this exotic disease poses to individual business operations, and better understand how a detection of this disease would be managed in Australia.
This Symposium has been supported by NSW DPI through the project ‘Preparedness and management of huánglóngbìng to safeguard the future of citrus industries in Australia, China and Indonesia’. This project is funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and Hort Innovation, with in-kind contributions from NSW DPI, Citrus Australia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Citrus Research Institute of China. Further support has been provided through the CitrusWatch program, which is funded by Hort Innovation through the citrus R&D levy and by Plant Health Australia through the citrus Plant Health Australia levy. Hort Innovation is the grower owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian horticulture.
Entry to the Biosecurity Symposium is free for registered Congress delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers.
