edp Australia extends Major Corporate Partnership with Citrus Australia

Citrus Australia is pleased to announce the extension of its Major Corporate Partnership with edp Australia.

Based in Mooroopna, Victoria, edp Australia is a leading supplier of fresh fruit and vegetable packaging solutions, including machinery and consumables.

It also has a long-term relationship with Spanish company Giro, a leader in sustainable packaging systems.

Through a nine-year relationship with Citrus Australia, edp Australia and Giro have provided a wealth of knowledge to the peak industry body’s members.

This has included their participation in and support of Citrus Australia’s major annual events, along with a recent study tour to Spain, which saw Citrus Australia members visit Giro’s manufacturing facilities and major Spanish citrus businesses.

Citrus Australia CEO Nathan Hancock said the extension of the Major Corporate Partnership would support Citrus Australia’s work across the industry.

“Through the highs and lows of the last decade, edp Australia and Giro have been there for the Australian citrus industry,” Hancock said.

“Their ability and willingness to share insights and expert knowledge has helped unlock added value for our members.

“This Major Corporate Partnership also supports the work Citrus Australia does on behalf of industry, be it in biosecurity, government advocacy, market access or improving industry communications.

“We look forward to building on our relationship with edp Australia, as we work together to increase the benefits for our members,” he said.

Ray Thrum, General Manager of edp Australia, said the company has been supplying turnkey solutions to its citrus customers for close to 20 years.

“We are committed to sharing the knowledge we’ve gained over this time in a very practical way to assist the continued growth of this industry and its members,” Thrum said.

“With labour availability a hot topic across the horticulture industry, we are particularly keen to highlight the benefits that our automated equipment can provide to citrus businesses of all sizes.

“Reducing your reliance on physical labour can improve your bottom line and make your operation far more efficient,” he said.

edp Australia supplies the marketplace with locally stocked consumables and has a dedicated team of service technicians for its equipment, the majority of which is manufactured at its 7,000m2  Mooroopna site.

A family-run business with a reputation for high quality and customer loyalty, edp Australia sees a bright future for the Australian citrus industry.

“Of all the categories we work with across the horticulture sector, we find the citrus industry to be the most organised and professionally run, and Citrus Australia plays a big part in that,” Thrum explained.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Citrus Australia and its members, as we continue to grow in tandem.”
