Calling for Expressions of Interest: Pest and Disease Study Tour and the 2025 Australian Citrus Congress

The Citrus industry pest and disease project (CT19011) is offering $500 funding for 10 people from Emerald, Wide Bay, Burnett or Southern Queensland regions to attend the Australian Citrus Congress in The Riverina, NSW, from March 18 to 20.

This will include a session on pest and diseases on March 17 specifically for Queensland growers.  This opportunity will provide a unique chance for cross-learning on best-practice pest and disease management happening in the Riverina.

  • Location: Griffith, NSW
  • Dates: March 17 to 20
  • Includes:
    • Extra session focused on pest and disease management in citrus
    • $500 rebate towards travel, accommodation, and registration costs.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  1. Must be a citrus grower contributing to the R&D levy
  2. Must be in the Emerald, Wide Bay, Burnett or Southern Queensland regions
  3. Open to no more than one person per business.

Selection Criteria:

Applications will be assessed based on the how the study tour aligns with the applicant’s current role in the citrus industry.

How to Apply:

Submit your 150-word expression of interest (EOI) detailing your eligibility to the selection criteria and a pest or disease you would like more information on managing by March 7 to Emily.pattison@daf.qld.gov.au, with “EOI for Southern Queensland IPDM funding” as the subject line. with:

  • A brief overview of your role and experience in the citrus industry
  • A statement addressing the selection criteria.
